LUXEMBURG-CASCO SOCCER CLUB

 The first annual alumni game went great!! 

In the girls game the even years beat the odd team by a score of 5-3.  The game was filled with non-stop action and entertaining for both players and fans.  Scoring began early with a huge boot outisde the 18 yard box by 2004 graduate midfielder Kim Dorner.  Askley Dekeyser, career high scorer for the Spartans, added 2 goals for the even team while Sarah Dorner and Katie Kinjerski also snuck a goal in as well.  Kelly Kosner started the assualt for the odd years by racking up a goal soon after the evens drew first blood.  2003 graduate Theresa Vandenhouten led the team with 2 blasts into the net to keep the game close but the even years broke away in the 2nd half.  Great job ladies!!

The men's game was just as exciting but had less scoring due to great acrobatic saves by all goalies.  Matt Detempal and Josh Ropson tended the net for the Odd years, while Ben Treml took care of goalie responsibilites for most of the game for the Even years.  The scoring was started by 2003 graduate midfielder Jacob Depas early in the 1st half.  The Even years retaliated with a score soon after by a cross from the corner.  Once the game was tied up it got a little bit more intense and only grew after Coach Blair Bandow took out Jacob Depas while he was on a break away towards the goal.  2007 graduate, Teddy Vandermuese, made the even years pay for that mistake has he capitalized on the free kick off the foul.  Another late score for the odd years sealed the deal as the even years couldn't get the equalizer in the net.  Final score was 3-1 in favor of the odds.
